  • Debbie Currence
    Sales Manager

I'm a hometown girl raised here in Fairbanks. In fact my Great Grandfather settled here in the early 1900s and now six generations of my family have called the Golden Heart City home.

Most of my work career has been in the car business performing various jobs. My family owned two different automotive shops here locally, and I've spent a good amount of time working on the sales floor, assisting hundreds of customers over the years with their vehicle purchases.  Now I'm proud to have the title of Sales Manager at our Alaskan owned Nissan store in Fairbanks!

My free time is spent with family and enjoying the outdoors. One of my many hobbies, and most favorite by far, is riding my horses and sometimes taking them to local horse shows.  Other hobbies might find me quilting, gardening, reading or even designing a website.

I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. I moved to Fairbanks in 2011, and have proudly called it home since.

I enjoy customer service and have always wanted to get my foot-in-the-door in the car sales industry. I have been involved in a wide variety of jobs. After getting my Bachelor's in Biology I decided to finally pursue my interests at Fairbanks Nissan.

When I am not at work I enjoy many activities. You'll find me hiking, camping, and playing with my dog to name a few.

I came to the Golden Heart City in the spring of 2000 to attend the University of Alaska, with the intent of moving back to Washington after graduation. I graduated in 2003, and like many Alaskans, I fell in love with the Interior and decided to stay. 14 years later I am proud to call myself an Alaskan.

After college I went into advertising sales and became the District Sales Manager for Phone Directories Company. I was in charge of three regional phone books that covered roughly three quarters of Alaska, which gave me the opportunity to experience many small communities in our great state. One of the things in love about Alaska is while we may be the largest state, our sense of community makes it feel much smaller.

I came into the auto industry with a long standing love of automobiles and their place in our American culture. Like most Americans, I am fascinated with cars. In fact, my favorite hobby is tinkering with my various vehicles. I have a weakness for old cars and love to work on them to keep them on the road. I also love new cars and their technology. I can't wait to see what the next innovation will be.
